Anyone who enjoys reading can likely point to a book in their childhood that helped them realize reading can spark the imagination and kickstart a lifelong love. What was that book for you? I loved books from a very early age, but one I can point to that showed me the transportive and transformative value of reading was Crosby Newell Bonsall's "Tell Me Some More."

In "Tell Me Some More," the character Andrew tells his friend of an enchanting place where incredible things are possible, such as holding a camel in one's hand or carrying home a steam shovel. Andrew's friend is awed and keeps saying, "Tell me some more!" It turns out this magical place is the library! What a wonderful way to introduce children to the idea that you can experience the most amazing things just by reading a good book.
It's important for parents to ensure their children learn to read and to help them find books that spark their imaginations. So many good things come of being a reader, just check out statistics sometime! Encouraging kids' imaginations to be kindled is just one of many amazing benefits. I hope you're inspired to read with your littles today!
